Hamza, the esteemed Dean of the College of Sciences, teaching assistants from the Medical Physics Department (M. Afrah Hussein Jihad and M. Noor Al-Huda Ahmed Kazem) organized a scientific introductory workshop titled \"The Field of Medical Physics<br \/>The workshop aimed to provide an overview of the field of medical physics and its significance as a discipline that integrates science, technology, and medical applications. The event was honored by the presence of physicist Rabab Nazer Mundher, an employee at Al-Noor Children's Hospital and a 2023 graduate of Al-Mustaqbal University, College of Medical Physics Sciences.\n\nHer participation served as a source of encouragement and motivation for first-year students, as she elaborated on the nature and career opportunities in medical physics within hospitals specializing in and prioritizing this field<br \/>The workshop also included the distribution of informational brochures, providing an overview of the department, including its vision, objectives, and mission<\/p><p>College of Science: The Gateway to Knowledge<br \/>The College of Science is a comprehensive academic center that includes various departments such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Artificial Intelligence, among others, providing students with a wide range of specialization options<\/p><p>The Department of Medical Physics: Merging Science and Technology<br \/>The Department of Medical Physics combines the principles of physics and mathematics with medical applications, focusing on the use of modern techniques for diagnosing and treating diseases<br \/>Department Objectives:<br \/>- Preparing specialized experts in medical physics<br \/>- Supporting scientific advancement in the field of medical imaging<br \/>- Providing medical services to the community using advanced technologies<\/p><p>Available Specializations in the Department of Medical Physics:<br \/>1. Radiology Imaging: Focus on the applications of X-rays<br \/>2. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): Producing detailed images of body organs using magnetic techniques<br \/>3. Positron Emission Tomography (PET): Determining the activity of vital organs using advanced techniques<\/p><p>Career Opportunities for Medical Physics Graduates:<br \/>- Working as medical physics technicians or medical imaging engineers in hospitals<br \/>- Working as researchers in scientific research centers<br \/>- Joining private companies that develop medical imaging technologies<\/p><p>Curriculum in Medical Physics:<br \/>- First Year: Study of the fundamentals of physics and mathematics<br \/>- Second Year: Focus on medical physics and imaging techniques<br \/>- Third Year: Practical training in medical centers<br \/>- Fourth Year: Focus on the specialization and the beginning of the students' graduation research project<\/p><p>Conclusion:<br \/>Medical physics is a dynamic and evolving field that combines science and technology to serve medicine and society. This workshop emphasized the students' passion for their field, the importance of the specialization, and the ethics of the profession.
